Inspiration Boards
It’s my first post!
I’ve wanted to create this blog for years now. It’s never the right time… and it still might not be! But here I am, doing it anyway. You have to start somewhere, right?
As a stay at home mom, I have a huge creative side and like many of you I need a creative outlet. Blogging has actually come and gone for me over the last 10 years. The focus was always on health and wellness, but my interests have changed over the last couple of years due to having my son, Brooks (currently 20 months now!) and the fact that we built a custom home 1 year ago (an absolute dream come true). We are all constantly evolving and I’m embracing the changes.
We moved into our custom built home exactly one year ago, October 2022. So, what better way to start my blog than with some of the inspiration boards I created when we built our home? :)
These inspiration boards were the *key* to designing our home. We didn’t use an interior designer, so it was important to create them throughout the design process and see all of my ideas come to together, not only for myself but to show my husband as well when I had a new idea. I used the Pages app through Apple and it was super simple to use!
Our little bar area is located right off the living room.
If you can’t tell, I created a “coastal chic” design for our home. It’s so important to keep a cohesive flow to a home (you don’t want coastal style in one room and midcentury modern in the next). These inspiration boards helped me create that flow. I wanted everything to go together when you walked through one room to the next.
I have several other inspiration boards for the other rooms in our home, which I plan to share in the future. I will also do a post for EACH room and what brands and companies I used to purchase a lot of the products in our home. Stay tuned :)
